Are we humans or are we ninjas

surpassing human limitations

"We watch an ant make its laborius way across a wind- wave-molded beach. He moves ahead, angles to the right to ease his climb up a steep dunelet, detours around a pebble, and stops for moment to exchange information with a compatriot." (Simon, Herbert 1969)

Herbert A. Simon tried to sketch the ant's path of movement on a piece of paper and came up with a sequence of somewhat irregular and and curved illustration. Herbert then realised that the ant's path wasn't really random for it has a sense of direction towards a goal. According to Herbert Simon's analysis, the ant has a general sense of where its goal lies. Though the ant does not have the ability to forsee future obstacles along the way, then it must adopt its course depending on the obstacles that lies ahead and achieve its goal.

The ant's path may seem irregular and complex but the complexity is not within the ant itself but the complexity of the beach that the ant is treading.

So how different would a regular human act from what the ant is doing..?

The Lovely Eccentricities of Time

.Our pasts are closed-off shopping malls.

Walking in front of a closed mall, I saw an empty dark version of a lively place. And with this picture, I saw my reflection while i was staring at the glass doors. I looked ghostly. Transparent, and floating through the furnitures inside the closed mall. I imagined my ghostly version window-shopping inside the dark department stores, peering through model display cabinets, checking shoe sizes, and playing in arcades. All that. Minus the living, "Real" people. The annoying people. No one would ever bother me in there, I thought. I could go where ever I want, take anything I want, smoke where ever I want. It would be my own little wonderland.

But alas, like going back in time, living like that, or even living in a place like that, would be impossible. If not sad. I could never live all alone in a dark and dull place like that. Our pasts will always be a mix of wonders and pain. Great times of happiness, triumphs, mistakes, and love. All in a dim quiet empty place. Closed-off from where we are now. And where we are NOW, is a place where everything is still the same. Only brighter. Where we are Now, is a place where you will never be a ghost inside that mall. Alone, numb and dead. Where we are now is a place where we walk with our feet.

And we're here, outside, walking, because we ought to be going somewhere.

Dream Sequence

Dream Sequence

Did you all know, that when you set your alarm clock early in the morning, and return to sleep immediately, you could start dreaming.
You could go straight into R.E.M. ("Rapid eye movement")

Of course, you'd have to be able to go back to sleep in order for it to work.
During R.E.M., sleep is  relatively more shallow. And all events within the dream, are affected by external stimuli.

Like the sounds and sensations that happens around the sleeper during sleep.
And when you have been awaken before hand, your body would become more sensitive to everything, and anything.

And so, these dreams, unlike normal dreams, would be more vivid. And   notably longer.
Every sensation would feel more real.
And more intense.
By waking from a deep sleep, and then sleeping again, you would be able to control when you want to dream.   Controling dreams, and getting to enjoy them, is as easy as setting your   alarm clock early in the morning.

Therefore: finding other ways to be happy would be just as simple.
